The authorities of the German capital announced that reduced tickets costing 29 euros introduced from October of this year will be valid until the end of March 2023.
“The validity of the €29 ticket is extended: the discounted offer will be valid in the Berlin area until the end of March 2023. Thus, the Senate of Berlin invests in modern public transport and effectively relieves the financial burden on Berliners.
Initially, the authorities planned to keep the “unified” for €29 only until a new national fare of €49 is introduced. But, since there is every reason to believe that the new ticket, valid throughout Germany, will not be ready by January 2023, they have decided to extend the validity of the old one until March.
According to the Senate, already allocated an additional budget of 500 million euros to subsidize discounted tickets for local public transport.
Earlier, TURIZM.RU wrote that the federal states of Germany agreed on plans to introduce a monthly ticket worth 49 euros, valid for public and regional transport throughout country.
