Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with his decision published in Wednesday, July 27, in the government gazette Resmi Gazete, allowed Bulgarian citizens to enter Turkey without a passport.

According to the decision of the head of state, Bulgarian citizens will be able to enter Turkey Turkey on its domestic identity cards for occasional tourist travel and transit, on the condition that this be limited to 90 days out of every 180 days.

According to the Ministry culture and tourism of Turkey, in the first five months of 2022, about 950 thousand citizens of Bulgaria visited Turkey . At the same time, today Turkish citizens must have a passport and are required to obtain a Bulgarian visa to enter Bulgaria.
