Emirates and Gulf Air the day before officially signed a one-way codeshare partnership. It will take effect in December this year. The new agreement will provide Gulf Air customers with convenient connections and enhanced options when choosing flights not only to Dubai, but also further across the entire Emirates route network in Europe, Africa, South America and the Far East.
The agreement was signed in first day of the Bahrain Air Show. From the side of Emirates it was signed by the president of the company Tim Clark, from the side of the airline from Bahrain — Gulf Air CEO Waleed Al Alawi.
As part of an expanded partnership, Gulf Air will place its GF code on Emirates flights, offering new itinerary options to Gulf Air customers. Travelers will be able to reach destinations such as Budapest, Moscow, Prague, Warsaw, Algiers, Tunisia, Bali, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Taipei and Sao Paulo. These are new destinations for Bahrainis.
Gulf Air customers will now enjoy the convenience of combined ticketing and check-in, including a single policy and baggage allowance, as well as competitive, single fares across multiple airlines within the Emirates system . Passengers can book flights through the Gulf Air website, through Gulf Air sales outlets and online travel agencies, and through local travel agents.
At present, Emirates has entered into codeshare cooperation agreements with 26 airlines – partners and two railway companies around the world, expanding its route network to more than 300 cities.
