Erdemli is a small coastal town located 30 kilometers from the center of Mersin. It is difficult to call it a beach resort, since local beaches, and there are few of them here, are not distinguished by cleanliness and beauty.
Along the coast are numerous high-rise buildings. In general, this area is very densely populated and the Antalya-Mersin highway passes through it, there are constant traffic jams. It is often called a remote microdistrict of Mersin.
Erdemli map of beaches
The city has five main beaches and several smaller sandy areas located along a pretty, well-equipped promenade.
- Beach No. 1 – Erdemli Topraksu Plajı
- Beach No. 2 – Erdemli belediyesi halk plajı
- Beach No. 3 – To the right of Erdemli Marina
- Beach No. 4 – Erdemli Belediyesi Sahil Parkı
- Beach No. 5 – Erdemli Akdeniz Halk Plajı
Briefly about all Erdemli: just beaches, gray sand, stones and small pebbles, no sunbeds and umbrellas. The beaches are mostly unclean. In some parts of the embankment, there is a strong smell of sewerage. But everything around is mostly well-groomed, tile and artificial turf paths, greenery, palm trees, many cafes, playgrounds and exercise equipment.

For swimming, we advise you to look for others beaches – for example, go to Sultankoy (18 km) or Kızkalesi (25 km). You can get there by bus or minibus, both from Mersin and Erdemli.
