Until now, foreigners arriving in Hong Kong had to take multiple tests for COVID-19. However, as of Thursday, December 29, 2022, travelers arriving by air are required to take only one — before departure. In particular, Hong Kong will accept a rapid antigen test made no more than 24 hours before departure, or a PCR test with a shelf life of two times longer. This is stated in a press release from the Hong Kong government.
The authorities also recommend keeping pictures of test results for 90 days. They may be required for presentation during inspections at the request of government personnel.
But to declare test results using HSKAR — electronic health declaration form of the Department of Health — from today is not required. However, officials recommend submitting your results anyway to receive a QR code. After all, some airlines can still request it at check-in.
Hong Kong is canceling its vaccination passports and does not require mandatory COVID-19 risk insurance for visitors to receive temporary vaccine passports. However, non-Hong Kong residents aged 12 or over are still required to provide proof of vaccination prior to boarding a flight to Hong Kong.
Vaccination requirements and temperature checks do not apply to passengers in transit who do not go through passport control.

However, Hong Kong maintains its previous mask requirements. In particular, masks are still required in all public places, including public transport.
