The government of Kyrgyzstan introduced temporary restrictions on the export of US dollars in cash from the republic, the government press service reported on Monday.
“In order to ensure financial and economic security, stabilize the situation in the domestic foreign exchange market, as well as protect the national interests of Kyrgyzstan, a temporary ban on the export of foreign currency in cash from the republic is established until the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers is made “, the message says.
Non-residents and foreign citizens are prohibited from exporting more than $5,000 in cash, residents and citizens of Kyrgyzstan — more than $10,000.
“In the service When residents and citizens of Kyrgyzstan export cash US dollars in excess of $10,000, a fee of 10% of the amount exceeding the established limit is charged,” the press service noted.
The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan and the State Customs Service were instructed to take the necessary measures to prevent the export of US dollars in cash.
Last year, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan adopted a number of decisions aimed at ensuring economic security and stability in the currency and financial markets. In the spring, he temporarily banned the issuance of hard currency in cash to citizens when receiving money transfers from abroad, and in the summer he approved a decree on temporary restrictions on foreign exchange transactions.
