Low-cost carrier Norse Airways to launch flights between New York and Paris

Norse Airways to launch flights between New York and Paris

News from Norse Airways comes less than two weeks after New York-based carrier JetBlue similarly announced plans to fly between New York and Paris, creating new competition in a market largely dominated by a joint venture between Delta and Air France. KLM.

Norse said it plans to fly daily starting March 26, 2023. Departure from Kennedy Airport is scheduled for 12:30, and arrival in Paris — at 14:05 local time. Westbound flights depart at 7:45 pm and arrive in New York at 10:00 pm.

The Norse Atlantic Airways model is largely borrowed from Norwegian Air — an ultra-low-cost transatlantic airline that quickly emerged as a major transatlantic player before running into economic hardship during the pandemic and eventually shifting its focus to short-haul European flights. Like Norwegian, Norse uses Boeing 787 Dreamliner liners, equipped with premium economy class and regular passenger cabin.

The low-cost airline debuted in June with flights between New York and the Norwegian capital Oslo ( OSL). The airline also operates flights between Oslo and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Los Angeles (LAX), as well as from JFK to London Gatwick (LGW) and Berlin (BER).
