New rules for entering Thailand from July 1

Thailand New Entry Rules Effective July 1st

The Thai authorities continue to follow the previously outlined plan to simplify the rules of entry into the country. At today's meeting, it was decided to introduce a new portion of concessions from July 1. They relate to the Thailand Pass, insurance and mask mode. The innovations are still awaiting final approval.

At a meeting of the Thai government on June 17, a decision was made to lift a number of restrictions inside the country, as well as to ease the requirements for entry into country, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The innovations will come into force after their approval by the Cabinet of Ministers and further publication in the Royal Gazette.

From July 1, foreign tourists will no longer need to issue a Thailand Pass (a kind of “visa relic”) to enter Thailand, if the decisions are made unchanged. Insurance covering covid risks will also no longer be a prerequisite from July 1.

The new sanitary rules for entering Thailand from July 1 are as follows:< /p>

Vaccinated: vaccination certificate (“Sputnik V” or “Sputnik Light”),

Unvaccinated: negative PCR test result and upon arrival in Thailand).

Children under 18 years of age: if parents are vaccinated, then nothing is required from children under 18 years of age. If the parents are not vaccinated, then nothing is needed until the age of 6, and from 6 to 18 years – a PCR test before departure (same as for parents).

Unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated travelers who do not have a negative PCR test done prior to arrival will be required to take a rapid ATK test at the airport.

Rest inside the country will also become more comfortable. The wearing of masks outdoors will still be canceled from July 1. The mask regime will remain only in crowded places and indoors, and it will also be relevant for people at risk.

Longer from July 1 entertainment venues will work, you can have fun there until 2 am.

Experts of the tour market took the news about innovations positively, recalling that it remains to be decided the main problem blocking the desire of many tourists to relax in Thailand is a direct flight. This issue is now being actively worked out and it is possible that this year the Russians will again be able to fly direct flights to the kingdom.
