A decision can be expected by June 1, 2023
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin instructed the government, together with a number of relevant departments, to prepare proposals for establishing visa-free regime for foreigners to travel to the Russian Federation for tourism, business, educational purposes, as well as for participation in sports and cultural events.
As emphasized in According to the list of instructions published on the Kremlin website, a visa-free regime for such trips should be established “without regard to the principle of reciprocity.”
The instruction is addressed to the government, the Foreign Ministry , the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB.
The first report on its implementation should be presented put to the President until June 1, 2023.
Proposals to extend the validity of a multiple-entry Russian tourist visa and to renew the validity of a single e-visa for citizens of foreign countries not included in the list of unfriendly countries.
In addition, the government and three relevant departments were instructed to prepare proposals for increasing the volume of air travel with foreign countries not included in the list of unfriendly ones.
The President instructed to spread the practice of St. Petersburg in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which provides for visa-free entry to Russia and temporary stay in Russia as part of organized groups of foreign citizens who are passengers of cruise ships.
