The Qatari flagship carrier plans to increase its headcount to over 55,000 from its current 45,000. Special events are being held in the Philippines, India and other countries to speed up the recruitment process.
Today it is already known that 70 percent of Qatar Airways' schedules will be adjusted to accommodate additional flights to Doha to facilitate the travel of fans.
For the championship, which will take place November 20 to December 18 2022, many airlines will significantly increase the number of flights to Qatar. In Doha, they even reopened the old airport in order to send planes with fans there. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar al-Baker previously predicted: “It will be a huge challenge to cope with this very fast-changing demand for a very large number of viewers.”
