Starting from Monday, July 17, 2023, to Russian tourists in case of any difficulties during their stay in Thailand, it is no longer necessary to travel to the capital. In addition to the Russian Embassy in Thailand, which is located in Bangkok, the Russian Consulate will now operate in Phuket:

At the opening ceremony, which was attended by many important guests from Russia and Thailand, Sergey Lavrov once again emphasized the friendly political, economic, cultural and educational ties between the two countries. As for the opening of the consulate itself, he noted that this would help to ensure the fulfillment of the main task of Russian diplomatic missions abroad – ensuring and protecting the rights of Russian citizens who serve in Thailand as tourists, on a business or creative trip.
