On June 2 at 12:00 CET, SAS is opening seat reservations for its first ever commercial all-electric flight. In fact, there will be three flights: to Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Scandinavian Airlines invites travelers to join the beginning of a new era in the history of aviation. There are 30 seats available for booking on each of the first three flights. They must take place during 2028.
One person can book a maximum of two seats. The exact day and place of departure will be announced later.
Since its founding in 1946, SAS has been one of the pioneers in the aviation industry, for example, becoming the first commercial air carrier to fly over the North Pole, which significantly reduced the time flights between continents.
In 2019, SAS signed a collaboration agreement with Swedish aircraft startup Heart Aerospace to develop electric aircraft. In September 2022, SAS agreed to supply their new electric ES-30 for their regional fleet.
