Aena network airports closed in June 2022 with an indicator of 24,320,204 passengers, that is, 90 percent of the traffic registered in June 2019, has already been restored.

Of the total travelers registered in June, 24,258,474 were commercial passengers, of which 16,491,696 were international travelers, down 14.4% from 2019. Meanwhile, 7,766,778 passengers took advantage of domestic flights — 2.2% less than before the pandemic.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in the sixth month of the year — 4,538,501 people, which is 18.5% less than in June 2019.

It is followed by Barcelona Airport — El Prat named after Josep Tarradellas with 4,065,862 passengers (-20.4% compared to 2019).

Next are the air harbors:

Palma de Mallorca with 3 715,622 passengers (- 3.6%);

Malaga — Costa del Sol with 1,907,290 passengers (-7.2%);

Alicante — 1,345,092 passengers (-12.6%);

Ibiza — 1,152,734 (-2.3%);

Gran Canaria — 926 433 (-5.4%);

Tenerife — 804,767 (-1.9%);

Valencia — 800 102 (+2.6%);

Seville — 619,449 (-7.1%);

Lanzarote — 606 596 (+0.4%);

Menorca — 558,714 (+6.5%);

Bilbao — 534,574 passengers, which is 8.5% less compared to the same month in 2019. 

The airport with the largest number of flights in June was the airport of Madrid — 30,639 (– 19.3% compared to 2019). It is followed by Barcelona airports with 26,648 flights and Palma de Mallorca — 26 391.
