Susanoglu Beach (Susanoğlu Plajı) is a three-kilometer beach located in the city of Atakent, Silifke district, 60 kilometers from the center of Mersin.

This is a popular tourist spot in the Silifke area. Most vacationers are Turks who come here with large families for summer holidays from the southeast of the country.
There are also Russians, most of them work at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction. I don’t quite understand why they go to this particular beach, because there are nicer places for a beach holiday in the Silifke area. This is a completely mediocre dirty beach in places, with crowds of vacationers. It is difficult to call the water near the coast transparent. The sand is more like river sand and it has a lot of cigarette butts, plastic garbage and seeds.

Susanoglu beach has areas where you can rent a sun lounger and an umbrella. Many restaurants and beach eateries with low prices. There is a road along the beach, you can go to Mersin along it – travel time is about 1.5 hours, the cost of a minibus (Silifke – Mersin) is 55 lire. There is also bus number 170, the time & nbsp; about 2 hours on the way.
I don’t advise you to go here specifically, it’s better to come to Yapraklı Koy beach, which is located 400 meters from here. And on the way back, you can walk here along the new embankment to take a walk and have a bite to eat in one of the inexpensive restaurants along the road.
Most of the inexpensive restaurants and large shops are located across the street from the beach.
