Starting Since January 2022, TAP has continued to outperform its competitors in Europe – Brazil. The volume of the “Portuguese” roughly double that of its competitors.
TAP currently flies from Lisbon to 11 cities in Brazil, 9 of which cannot be reached directly from other European airports. In total, the Portuguese carrier has carried more than 1 million passengers between the two countries this year. Another obvious plus — highly competitive fares and quality service.
Load rates on popular Brazilian TAP destinations are now just 15% below pre-pandemic levels. With a high degree of probability, it can be assumed that during 2023 the pre-pandemic numbers will be passed. In September 2022, the airline operated 1,318 flights to and from Brazil. This is 97% of the volume flown between Brazil and Europe in 2019.
Brazil remains one of TAP's priority markets and the airline will continue to invest in it to remain the leading airline connecting the two regions. TAP currently offers direct flights to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceio, Porto Alegre, Recife and El Salvador.
