Where is it better to relax in Sochi?
One short word “Sochi” refers to the area with a length of more than 150 km (suddenly?). For example, if you choose a hotel closer to the sea station, you will have to leave for the airport much in advance – even in the best scenario, it takes 45 minutes to get there. Therefore, here are our tips on personal experience on how to navigate in Greater Sochi:

In a nutshell: there is more interesting architecture in the historical center, all these parks with palm trees are at hand, but Sochi hotels on the seashore are either tiny (without a pool and parking) or expensive. Adler, on the other hand, has brand new Olympic facilities and mountains, the hotels have more spacious rooms and territory, while the prices are a little more democratic. Attractions, shops and restaurants are in abundance everywhere – the resort is growing and developing by leaps and bounds. 5-star hotels in Sochi and Adler
5-star hotels in Sochi and Adler have a complicated history. First of all – because of the poor choice. Some of them are sanatoriums that have survived from Soviet times with rises at 7 in the morning, medical procedures and canteen meals. The other category is resort-and-spa deluxe hotels that are priced like you're on BeyoncĂ©'s private island. And looking at some options, it seems that the owners themselves added a couple of stars to this guest house with amenities on the floor …
In this section, we have selected the best 5-star hotels in Sochi (and Adler) with good service, pleasant design and great reviews. But it was not possible to find a compromise with the cost, so … ↓
Important note. Yes, prices for the best hotels in Sochi at the height of summer can cause an attack of tachycardia. For this reason, we personally prefer to visit the Black Sea and its hotels, which cannot be approached, during the off-season – closer to October, the price tags fold in half, and the weather is good until mid-November!
I took the hotel rating from the Booking website – after all, we are all used to being guided by it. But it is no longer possible to book options within Russia there. Therefore, all links lead to domestic search engine replacements (with no less attractive prices).
5* Grand Karat Sochi< /strong>
Grand Karat Sochi used to belong to the Hyatt chain, and stylish rooms, smiling service at the reception and a decent Karatu cleaning room were inherited. Conveniently located in the city center and within walking distance from the waterfront; Seaside beach (sand and pebble beach) is only 70 meters away.
- The rooms are big. The most modest “standard” – 37 squares in area. By the way, in terms of content, it is not at all modest: panoramic windows overlooking the sea, a shower AND a free-standing bath, a coffee machine, a pillow menu and other goodies. There are options for connecting rooms for large groups.
The hotel has an area with a heated pool – this is both a plus and a minus. Plus, because you can start swimming in early spring, when it is already hot in Sochi, but only winter swimming fans splash in the sea. Minus – you have to go to the pool along the street, and in Sochi in December-February the temperature is definitely not for walking in one swimsuit.
Reviews about the food range from “this was the best breakfast I've ever had” to “tasteless food and undercooked eggs”, but there are still more positive comments. Another of the unpleasant moments: construction next door and renovations in the hotel itself, and this is noise and partially non-functioning amenities.

This spa hotel in Sochi is located far from the center, but close to the arboretum and with its own beach (first line – and sand! in Sochi!). The hotel itself is located on 7 hectares of verdant park, which was planted at the same time as the arboretum. Since that time, every bush has been preserved, and it all blooms beautifully, smells good and sounds thanks to the singing birds.
A separate feature of the territory is a cascade fountain with night illumination. There is a flower-shaped pool with an underwater acoustic system (the word aqua disco has sparkled with new colors), the water warms up well in the off-season + there is an area with a pool inside – it is convenient to go to the hotel in winter.
- The rooms are simple and spacious, overlooking the park and the sea. The beds are king-size, good cosmetics in the bathroom, a coffee machine, and the order is maintained by caring, like a mother, maids. Top-level cuisine: fresh juices, fruits, champagne, fish, cheeses – and that's just breakfast.
The hotel has a lot thought out for little tourists: a good menu is offered for children, a playroom with a Play Station , outdoor playgrounds with trampolines and slides. Also two separate children's pools, including one on the beach, animation and a psychologist. Pullman Sochi Center is a modern business hotel (not a family one!). It is conveniently located: the central embankment, the Seaside Park, the sea station, the main attractions and delicious restaurants – everything is nearby, no need to spend money on a taxi. There is a free transfer to Rosa Khutor with an ascent to Rosa Peak. The beach is private pebbly, in the summer season there are two swimming pools for adults and children. It’s worth enrolling Pullman in the best hotels in Sochi with a pool only for the indoor year-round pool on the 16th floor – just imagine this view of the sea and the city.
- The rooms are decorated in soothing colors, there is free flying Wi-Fi -Fi, king size bed and memory foam pillows. The drive from the airport to the hotel is only 10 km, and the Imeretinskaya Embankment and the Olympic Park are within easy walking distance. On the territory there is an excellent spa with a hammam, a jacuzzi and a huge indoor pool (everything is already included in the price!) And two outdoor pools, one of which is heated. Behind the “first line” mark lies its own beach with loose sand and luxurious sunbeds and tents for everyone to envy. There is free closed parking for personal cars, which is rare for Sochi.
- The rooms are bright and in warm colors, large bathrooms with a full set of cosmetic bottles. Cleaned daily, bed linen changed every other day.
Pleasant little things please: a welcome cocktail, drinks and fruits on the floors, snacks with snacks in the afternoon, alternative milk to coffee. For breakfast – and it is included even in the most basic rate – a hearty buffet with a decent selection of dishes. Grace Horizon is the hotel where it is better to stay in Sochi, to get 4 stars, close to the sea and the city center, built recently (in 2021!) , but at the same time budget – the perfect combo. Located on the first coastline of the Seaside Beach (sand and pebbles), the rooms have not yet had time to get tired of the flow of tourists.
- Finishing – just a marble sea, the stone here is not only on the floor, but also on most of the walls. In general, the atmosphere is pleasant, a lot of light, warm shades and without too much gold and crystal.
There will be no problems with food either: there are rates with breakfast, breakfast and dinner, some rooms have their own kitchen. A restaurant with a view of the sea, and this is also a plus for the hotel and your knowledge of Zen.
According to tourists, this is the best hotel in Sochi in terms of price, quality and location. But there is also a problem: elevation changes, as in the whole city. This is also a minus – you need to walk 600 meters up a steep hill, even take a taxi (150 rubles), but the hotel does not have its own territory.
- Everything is classic in the rooms: free wi-fi, a kettle , bathrobe and slippers, premium cosmetics in the bathroom. In some categories, there are folding sofas as an extra bed, there are two-room options.
The breakfast buffet is excellent and varied, the rest of the time you can order from the menu at the local restaurant “Sea” a few steps from the real waves. Many people directly recommend having dinner here: with a relaxing playlist, you can try the author's cuisine, which is not inferior to Moscow establishments. But the wine list is not their forte because of the meager selection of loyal brands.

Sea Galaxy is conveniently located for relaxation between the Winter Theater and the arboretum. Large green area and free guarded parking, which is almost nonsense for the center. Animation and physical activities work during the season, you can take some yoga asana with other vacationers, for example. Of the shortcomings – narrow and slow elevators.
- The rooms are modest and tasteful: the renovation is not from the designer, but not pretentious and quite pleasing to the eye, most rooms overlook the sea. The content is standard: from plasma on the wall to slippers in the bathroom – everything is available. In each room you can hear the sound of the sea and there is a huge balcony where seagulls often fly. You can feed them, only we didn't tell you, otherwise the maids swear.
The food is varied and tasty (they say dumplings and pancakes with fish are the bomb) from breakfast to full board. Local restaurants and bars also work on the menu, prices are reasonable and not the highest in the city of Sochi.

Imeretinsky is a solid four, no worse than some fives, with a convenient location: both the sea and the mountains are nearby, however, you will have to take a little walk. The territory is large, there are outdoor heated and indoor pools, so even in the off-season the hotel has many tourists who come for family vacations with children.
- Although the inn is looked after and diligently cleaned, some of the rooms are already a little gloomy and look shabby, but most are still hoo. There are adjacent options in the neighborhood and for people with limited mobility.
For food: you can take it without it, there are rates from breakfast to full board. In the morning they are fed hearty: hot with a side dish, cereals, casseroles, drinks, in the evenings a compliment – handmade chocolate. Next to the Imeretinsky hotel there are several blocks of apart-hotels – the same name, but with the prefix “Marine”, “Coastal”, etc. The feature of the Adler district is many, many relatively new, built for the Olympics, neat high-rise buildings with landscaped areas, parking lots and swimming pools in complexes a la Europe.
We chose the Parkovy Kvartal, an apart-hotel with apartments, very close to Sochi Park, Olympic venues, the Formula 1 track.
- The range of rooms is over the top, but in other quarters, many have already been killed in succession tourists. Therefore, Parkovy is the most adequate option. Apartments here – from studios to apartments with three bedrooms, there are options for tourists with limited mobility.
The advantages of the apartments are obvious: your own kitchen (save money on restaurants and try seasonal fruits and vegetables from the local market), you can easily go on vacation with your beloved dog or cat. There are washing machines in the room and cleaning from the hotel.
