The iconic Farnborough Air Show opens for the first time since 2018

The famous Farnborough Air Show opened for the first time since 2018

Previous Farnborough 2020 was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19. The Paris Air Show, which was last held in 2019, has been canceled in 2021.

This Farnborough follows the November 2021 Dubai Air Show, which was the first major regional air show since the pandemic, as well as the February air show in Singapore.

Air Shows provide aircraft component manufacturers and others in the aviation supply chain with the opportunity to showcase their latest products and meet with airline executives to try and secure new deals or sales.

As a rule, new sensations are expected at such events, which are shown to the public for the first time. For example, last fall in Dubai this was the debut of Boeing — the new 777X, and Emirates unveiled its new first-class suite at the 2017 show.

Nothing new was announced ahead of Farnborough, but the show kicked off with a high-profile US Delta order to buy 100 Boeing 737 MAX 10s. Incidentally, Boeing will show off its 737 MAX 10 for the first time, while rival Airbus has brought in its A350s and A220s in an attempt to secure new orders. Both aircraft manufacturers are expected to enter into sales agreements with both Europeans and Americans.

Green and zero emissions are expected to feature prominently at the show.

Well, in In the UK itself, during the first two days of the event, there is an unprecedented record heat.
