From August 1, 2023, prices for admission to museums and access to the country's attractions will almost double. It is worth noting that, as in Thailand, rates increase only for foreign tourists. For local residents and those who have a residence permit in Turkey, they remain the same.
Turkish media inform that from August 1, the cost of visiting about 350 objects of increased tourist attention will increase significantly – museums, parks, architectural and historical monuments and buildings. It is interesting that at some of the presented locations over the past year, prices for entrance tickets have been increased for the third time – before that, they changed last summer and this spring.
Here are some examples of fresh prices:
- visiting the ruins of ancient cities: Ephesus – 700 TL ≈ 2400 rubles; Pamukkale – 700 TL ≈ 2400 rubles; Goreme – 480 TL ≈ 1650 rubles
- entrance to the Ihlara Valley and Aspendos – 330-340 TL ≈ 1150 rubles;
- the famous Maiden Tower in Istanbul – 550 TL ≈ 1900 RUB
The vast majority of locations used to be much cheaper for tourists, about 1000 rubles. It is worth noting that for those under 18 years old and over 65 years old, admission to most museums and access to attractions is free.
