Turkish opposition leader promised visa-free regime if elected

Kılıçdaroğlu's statement did earlier this week for a national news channel, where he stated that within three months all Turkish citizens would be able to travel to the EU without the need for a Schengen visa.

However, he did not share any further information on how that is how he plans to make it possible.

“We will come to power and win the presidential election, and within a year at the latest we will turn this country into a place where you can breathe freely. In three months every citizen will be able to travel to Europe without a visa”, — said Kılıçdaroğlu.

The challenger put forward his candidacy for the presidential elections in May last year. His candidacy comes amid a crisis in the opposition national alliance after the right-wing Good Party opposed his candidacy, initially announcing its withdrawal from the alliance.

While visa-free travel remains a difficult topic for Turkey, Kılıçdaroğlu I am sure that he will be able to ensure that all Turkish citizens no longer go through visa procedures.

In the meantime, all Turkish citizens are required to obtain a Schengen visa to enter Europe.
