Now these oaks form an amazing arch over the alley leading to the luxurious estate. In 1994, the famous Hollywood film Interview with the Vampire was filmed in this house. Now the complex is open for tourists, you can even spend the night here if you wish.

Before the American Civil War, which lasted from 1861 to 1865, huge plantations of cotton, sugar, rice and indigo stretched along the Mississippi River in Louisiana. At that time, Louisiana was one of the wealthiest regions in the country. Of the 350 luxurious properties of those times, only forty have survived to the present. About a dozen estates are now available to tourists. Almost all of them are located on the site along the Great River Road between Bayton Rouge and New Orleans. This site is now called “Plantation Alley”.
